New corporate taxes on alcohol have put a stranglehold on the all-too-necessary taverns, bars, and other hubs of stress relief across Mars. A new breed of local hero – illegal distillery operators and runners – have risen to save the Red Planet’s workforce from devouring itself out of sober frustrations. But making and running contraband is dangerous work.
