Long Description:
A Low Pressure to build up my tornado and a Cold Water to nerf your hurricane- BAM my Monster Storms just ate your Tropical storm systems. Many of the educational games used in classrooms are reskinned review games. It is more engaging to use games to teach the concepts. In this workshop, we will try out several hands on/ minds on games that teach academic content in an engaging way.
The Tragedy of the Commons is a simple simulation game that includes cooperation and competition to teach conservation and economic concepts. Monster Storms is a competitive card game with players competing to build up the largest storms using weather variables. Chemical Dice is a competitive dice game that focuses on building the chemical formulae of different compounds.
Participants will receive a usb drive with print and play pdf versions of the games.
