Long Description:
Released in 1977 by Discovery Games, this game was a favorite of Gary Gygax, co-author of the original D&D game and founder of Gen Con. His son, Luke, would play the game while home sick from school and quite often would take an extra day to recuperate and, of course, play more Source of the Nile! The event will be run by none other than the game's co-designer's Ross Maker and David Wesely. Played out on a large hex map with 25mm figures. Players take on the role of European explorers in the 19th century as they explore the interior of the Dark Continent! The seek fame and fortune as they face animal attacks, hostile natives, dangerous river cataracts, starvation, and disease. Each must make some significant discovery and return to England where they present or publish their works to get more funding for further expeditions.
