After the recent reopening of the Battle-pitts of Hlomb, dangerous competitive sports, for fame and riches, have blossomed; especially in the lawless areas. This cycle event is a marathon journey through the hostile territory of Licentia. Long ago this land was lush, but now the dead roam and foul beasts hunt for prey. This first leg of the journey the contestants race in small groups and eventually against one another.
