Welcome aboard the U.S.S. Orville (ECV-197), a mid-level exploratory space vessel in the Planetary Union, a 25th-century interstellar alliance of Earth and many other planets.
A sos is being sent from the scientific outpost on Epsilon Alpha III. You are being sent to investigate. This event is a continuation of A Nest in the Dark.
Omega Draconis A* is a black hole with a brilliant radiation plume. Abyss Station is a base set up to orbit & monitor it to learn about the local phenomena.
Description:
The system features a single surviving small planet, Omega Draconis I, which reports confirm contains some pockets of sentient life. The planet was likely much larger and more hospitable before its sun went supernova and incinerated much of the crust. Also orbiting the black hole, is a massive alien facility. It's spherical, featureless, the size of Earth and very, very old. Until now the alien facility has been silent and dark with no way to gain entrance. In truth, this facility was created by an ancient species with technology that far outshines that of Starfleet.
Reports of a Klingon Bird of Prey violating the neutral zone have reached Starfleet Command. The crew is to investigate to see if there is any truth to these rumors.
Description:
Arriving at Bacchus IV the Lexington becomes disabled: the crew finds an energy beam from the planet has knocked everything offline. They can see from their vessel, however, artificial structures visible on the planet's surface with the naked eye.
Remote mining colony Coriolanus IV failed to send its last scheduled update, so Starfleet Command wants to check in.
Description:
The Lexington is the lone ship in the area, so the crew must operate without access to further support. Coriolanus IV is a mining colony that recently discovered one of the largest deposits of dillithium ever recorded, so it is critical to discover what happened and protect the crystals. The system is at the edge of explored space, but it's not claimed by any power. Because of its remore nature, Starfleet decided to also send a survey and research team to explore the planet for new life and phenomena. The stakes are high, as enemy nations are encroaching from every corner, and every load of dillithium can power a starship task force.
